A BRUSH WITH THE HEART

This is painted from one of Sky Clark's photos. I found out later that this is Skye's dad, still doing what he loves.

This is a painting of my husband an his brother pulling their fathers old Willy's jeep out of an old shed. The location is the farm where they grew up. So this painting is a little extra special!

Notice this little girls ankle. The strength is not quite there yet. I love the youth in this one.

A Scene in the Flint Hills of Kansas. This one is special to me. My teacher was helping teach me via Messinger. All the vast nothingness of the painting was getting to me so I put a few leaves here and there where the tree was located and just left it. Leaves were in sort of a circle formation. My teacher couldn't help but comment on my supposed tree many times. He kept suggesting I needed to fix it. I realized the tree was bugging him. I don't know how many times he kept telling me to fix the tree. It was a healthy tree in the photo. I had to chuckle to myself each time. It did look really bad. Oh, I was bad, teasing my teacher this way, but he was so serious and I am so ornery. Of course, I did add a few more leaves, a tree trunk and branches so the leaves had something to hang on.
This painting isn't very good, but I treasure it for the MEMORIES!!

Love the expression on this young lad's face. What is he missing out on? Soon puppy sitting will no longer be required. Soon they will be inseparable.

I Love how Kristy was able to capture this scene in the FlintHills.
This is one of the first paintings I completed after throwing the paint brushes away for 30 years. I hope I was able to capture the feelings I felt when I saw this photo. The love of country life is a love that never grows old.
Painted in reference to one of Kristy Jewell's photos.

My imaginary dream place in the mountains.

Another Western Art Oil Painting. Part of my art gallery.
This young cowboy drew my heart in at the Western Shoot in Kansas. This young boy was in heaven sitting on Lilly. He was so absorbed into the feeling of being a cowboy. This little mini horse.....so gentle. Loved the children there. I have so many photos of this young boy & Lilly....I'm sure I will have to do more.

A western oil painting. Part of my art gallery.
I love the obvious bond between the boy and his horse. He is learning with help from his friend full of strength & determination.
Had to add a little sassiness to this steed.
Painted in reference to one of Kirstie Lamberts photos.

Another Western Art oil Painting. This is the smallest I have ever painted. Quite different. The Evident deep feelings is what drives me to choose what I paint. This young girl is so happy and free spirited that I had a hard time having her pose this way. She always rode a little Hackney with lots of energy. I love the look on her face.

Western art oil painting. Part of my art gallery.
Now this is my first really small one. Think I tried to put too much into such a small space. Guess that is why I paint big.
This is the same young girl in the painting...... Deep Thoughts.
Oh the happiness she shares with this little Hackney. Quite a little horse. He dances on his legs while standing. I have seen photos of them pulling carts with those high front legs.
She was standing in front of me and my eye caught hers and I smiled. She saw me smile and this is her happiness showing. She couldn't contain herself. Think she loves happiness as much as I do and I think this is true for most.
This was a must paint for me. True feelings exude. No holding back!

Was fortunate enough to go on a night shoot with a group of great photographers. Me...I don't know much. I paint!
We were at the beautiful Bar U Ranch in the Flint HIlls of Kansas. Rex Buchman & his wife, Theresa, are great people. It is evident Rex loves his horses and it is amazing to watch him work with them. This whip here isn't cruel. It is the cracking sound of the whip that makes them listen. Gets their attention. They understand each other. It's the cowboy way. Hope to paint more. Hope I did it justice. Hope I get to return.
